Grab your beloved or best friend, or come solo and meet some extraordinary new friends as Marilyn Sorensen & I have sumpin really special for you. It involves volunteering at a baby elephant sanctuary, soaking in the warm, blue waters of the Indian Ocean, serving in the local Maasai Village tending the land and helping with water supply, sitting with the grandmothers and elders and learning herbalism and ancestral arts, receiving blessings, and taking in the old ways from those who’ve stayed close to the earth and each other. And most definitely Soul Safari—where we will go traverse the reserve in Kenya with local guides and be among the wild animals, in awe, remembering our place among all things.
We will be in ceremony and celebration several days, serving the community for a few of those, tending grief through ritual, and ecstatically welcoming the embodiment of our joy while weaving in sisterhood and with our global family.
October is a glorious time of year to be in Africa, and we’d love to guide you every step of the way. My incredible co-facilitator, Marilyn has been living in Kenya, among the Maasai, for the last 9 years and serving this community for over 16. She knows the land, the people, and will show us the way. When we are not in service to community, or learning, or in ritual, we will be exploring and playing and remembering our wild, wondrous nature.
This will be an exquisite mixture of communal tending, service, inward journeying, education, baby elephants, safari, community connections, deep dives, and adventure.
We’ll take you in many directions, which will inevitably leave you in a richly expanded state.
Your “partner in purpose”, Marilyn used to travel from the US to Africa for service projects, when she fell in love and decided to move there 8 years ago. Her decades of guiding gifted healers and those seeking transformation, have led her to teaching women around the world how to use modalities in their own expansive healing. Her passion to help women and girls led her to create Harambe Humanitarian, which provides washable sanitary kits for girls that give them the opportunity to stay in school and change the trajectory of their lives with education.
